Summit Support and the Mental Wellness Alliance to Honor Mental Health Champions at Community Celebration

Park City, Utah – May 30th – Following a powerful month of events in May for Mental Health Awareness, the Park City and Summit County communities will come together to honor the individuals and organizations driving change in local mental wellness efforts.

On Wednesday, June 25, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Park City Library Community Room, community members are invited to attend “Summit Strong: A Celebration of Mental Health Champions.” Hosted by Summit Support and the Mental Wellness Alliance, this special evening will celebrate the leaders, advocates, and unsung heroes who helped make the 2025 Mental Health Month campaign a success.

The free, public event will feature a reception with refreshments, a keynote address, an awards ceremony, and a heartfelt tribute to those working to reduce stigma and support mental health in Summit County.

This year’s campaign was about more than just events — it was about starting meaningful conversations, shifting perspectives, and building a more compassionate, connected community,” said John Davis, event organizer and leader of Summit Support . “This celebration is our way of saying thank you and recommitting to the important work ahead.



Program highlights will include:

  • Meet and greet with community leaders and health care professionals
  • Recognition of local mental health champions and community partners
  • Personal stories from individuals impacted by the awareness campaign
  • Guides and contact information to local Mental Health Providers
  • “Get Involved” — “Make a Difference”  Opportunities


All residents are encouraged to attend and show support for the neighbors, friends, and professionals who are helping to transform how our community talks about and addresses mental health.

The Mental Wellness Alliance is a county-wide initiative led by the Summit County Health Department, uniting schools, healthcare providers, nonprofits, local businesses, and community leaders to improve mental health outcomes through coordinated action and collective impact.

John Davis

Chicago native John Davis has enjoyed a long calling as a volunteer for not-for- profit organizations.

In his native Chicago John served on the board of his neighborhood Chamber of Commerce, was one of the co-founders of the Chicago International Wine Festival and headed the Food and Beverage division of Chicago’s United Jewish Federation.

During his time in Chicago he was a wine merchant, restaurant proprietor, wine writer and wine educator.

In 1965 John founded a nationally-known Chicago fondue restaurant, Geja’s Cafe, which recently celebrated its 60th anniversary.  Additionally, John was the founder and CEO of a direct marketing wine company, Wine Insiders, which ships wine directly to consumers across the U.S.

After moving to Utah in 2008 with his wife and son, John became a volunteer for the Peace House. In 2025 seeing a need to raise awareness of mental health challenges he founded the non-profit Summit Support.
