Summit Strong: A Celebration of Mental Health Champions

Join us for an inspiring evening as we celebrate the success of Summit County’s recent Mental Health Awareness Campaign! This special event honors the individuals and organizations whose dedication has made a real difference in promoting mental wellness in our community. Whether you’re a volunteer, mental health professional, community leader, donor, or someone passionate about making a positive impact, you’re invited to be part of this uplifting gathering.

6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Event Program

6:00 – 6:20 PM: Welcome Reception
Enjoy light hors d’oeuvres, refreshments, and background music. Browse a photo slideshow of past events and visit display tables featuring local organizations.

6:20 – 6:40 PM: Opening Remarks
Our host will welcome guests and recap the campaign’s goals, events, and community impact.

6:40 – 6:50 PM: Keynote Speaker
Hear an inspiring story from a respected community member or mental health advocate.

6:50 – 7:15 PM: Awards & Recognition Ceremony
We’ll honor event partners, sponsors, outstanding volunteers, mental health professionals, and youth or community members who have shown exceptional initiative. A special Legacy Award will recognize someone with a longstanding impact on local mental health awareness, including Connect personnel. Short videos or testimonials will highlight these achievements.

7:15 – 7:30 PM: Community Voices Panel
Listen to heartfelt stories from a youth, clinician, community leader, and program participant about how the campaign has touched their lives.

7:30 – 7:40 PM: Closing Remarks
Discover ways to stay involved and help shape the future of mental health initiatives in Summit County.

7:40 – 8:00 PM: Networking & Celebration
Enjoy more refreshments, music, and conversation. Share your gratitude or inspiration in our community memory book.

John Davis

Chicago native John Davis has enjoyed a long calling as a volunteer for not-for- profit organizations.

In his native Chicago John served on the board of his neighborhood Chamber of Commerce, was one of the co-founders of the Chicago International Wine Festival and headed the Food and Beverage division of Chicago’s United Jewish Federation.

During his time in Chicago he was a wine merchant, restaurant proprietor, wine writer and wine educator.

In 1965 John founded a nationally-known Chicago fondue restaurant, Geja’s Cafe, which recently celebrated its 60th anniversary.  Additionally, John was the founder and CEO of a direct marketing wine company, Wine Insiders, which ships wine directly to consumers across the U.S.

After moving to Utah in 2008 with his wife and son, John became a volunteer for the Peace House. In 2025 seeing a need to raise awareness of mental health challenges he founded the non-profit Summit Support.
