Our Founder

John Davis - A Passion for Park City's Well-being

Park City is more than just a beautiful place to live; it’s a community I deeply care about. That’s why I founded Summit Support: to address the growing mental health challenges facing our friends, families, and neighbours through focused mental health advocacy in Park City.

After seeing a spike in issues with mental health, I knew I had to do something. So, I sought resources and funding to start a non-profit that would support existing agencies and find real solutions to our problems.

Park City is more than just a beautiful place to live; it’s a community I deeply care about. That’s why I founded Summit Support: to address the growing mental health challenges facing our friends, families, and neighbours.

Summit Support is a non-profit organization dedicated to:
  • Increasing awareness of mental health issues in Park City and Summit County.
  • Reducing stigma and fostering open conversations.
  • Supporting local mental health agencies through collaborative partnerships and fundraising efforts.
  • Empowering individuals to seek help and live fulfilling lives.

We don’t duplicate the work of existing agencies. Instead, we act as a catalyst, bringing together resources, expertise, and passionate individuals to strengthen the existing safety net.

John Davis

Chicago native John Davis has enjoyed a long calling as a volunteer for not-for- profit organizations.

In his native Chicago John served on the board of his neighborhood Chamber of Commerce, was one of the co-founders of the Chicago International Wine Festival and headed the Food and Beverage division of Chicago’s United Jewish Federation.

During his time in Chicago he was a wine merchant, restaurant proprietor, wine writer and wine educator.

In 1965 John founded a nationally-known Chicago fondue restaurant, Geja’s Cafe, which recently celebrated its 60th anniversary.  Additionally, John was the founder and CEO of a direct marketing wine company, Wine Insiders, which ships wine directly to consumers across the U.S.

After moving to Utah in 2008 with his wife and son, John became a volunteer for the Peace House. In 2025 seeing a need to raise awareness of mental health challenges he founded the non-profit Summit Support.
